Year TR Welling 1995 This year started in
Old Colorado City in the old City Hall/court house Building. At the end of 1994 Shakra, AJ (Melissa), and I moved into Old Colorado City
into a former hotel, which had been converted to studio apts. It was a former rat
trap, which had been in part converted to studios. Melissa demanded that
she have a cat. with a strict immediate leave upon the discovery of a pet. we
were their a few weeks before her cat was discovered. We had to move, we found a nice place a few hundred feet away in the
Old Court House/City Hall. The second
former 0000 of Old Colorado City. Shakra, AJ (Melissa), and I moved into
the in basic 2-bedroom apartment upstairs which used to be part of the court
house. We lived in that
apartment for a few months before Melissa found someone else to live with and
moved back to Manitou. Leaving us with an
apart we could not afford. We had a few months
in that location before we had to move out. We moved in with
Tammi a friend of James in Denver. We stayed with Tammi
for about 4 months before we were given a car by Shakra’s
ex boyfriends father, an extremely good man Harold and advised to leave
Colorado. To seek our fortunes elsewhere. We traveled to
Arizona with that vehicle first to Flagstaff,
So we headed south to Pheonix. Had interacted with
some people made contact with at Tammi’s and went to
stay with them. Ozzy’s a night Then hunzarts for a couple months Then neil and heathers Back to flagstaff Where was an SCA
event we attended, it lasted a few days and we camped semi-close by. After the event we
went to the library where we met up with
Lee Cagle in the park behind the Flagstaff AZ library. Where a large amount
of people form the city had gathered some locals
some homeless, a nice place to just sit and think about the next move. After about a month
we went back to Neil and Heathers Only a few weeks it
was time to leave neil and heathers Went to Sedona to see
about my wears. car camped in Prescott We started to camp in
free places to live. But they were not accessible unless you had a vehicle. National forests you
can stay in each one for up to 14 days free. But they are not
close together. you can live rent free in the national forests for 14 days at
a time. So you have to drive between them,
sometimes they are not exactly close. We spent about 6
weeks bouncing around before left to go to WA state upon advice from Lee
Cagle. We had enough money
we headed to WA State. Took about a week to
travel from Prescott to Whatcom County. Slept in a free to overnight
stay in a lot next to a beach just south of Blaine WA. First time I saw the
Sound up close. We bypassed
Bellingham on I 5 on our way to the farther north we could go. Went to the Lynden
Pioneer Museum later in the day. Then drove down to
Bellingham to see what we could see. BLVD park, we drive
south on North State street till we were out of Bellingham on our way to
Fairhaven. We wanted to turn
around and found the first place we could. Turned right,
performed the 180’ curve in the road and saw BLVD Park of the first time. Shakra fell in love the second she saw it. It was close to the
exact opposite of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Wet, huge trees,
mountains, a huge body of salt water, mist, green everywhere, and absolutely beautiful. We spent a few hours
at the park simply enjoying it. We had passed rest stopps north and south of the city. it was decided that
we would sleep their the north and south stops till we found something
better. Shakra knew full well that this rest
stops thing would not work forever. we spent time asking
charities for help. Was at a church
basement where we could go in and pick up needed household items. Where we met Rachael
palmer. she lived off Racine in Bellingham. We had a couch to
crash on for a while. Found a couple up on
the guide where we could pay rent for a room in their 2
bedroom house just of the guild about 10 minutes north of the city. Ken and Laurie, she
was pregnant, We payed them rent
for about 2 months before we were asked to leave. huge personality conflict.
after she gave birth we were asked to leave shortly after. Friends of theres moved in. we were needed to leave in order for the friends to move in. Which was fine Through UCM we met
chuck and jennika. the owners of the below
property. It was approaching
the end of summer start of winter. I went to Mirdad Center in the middle of downtown Bellingham to
work, was accepted to work. Worked occasionally
for them as an independent contractor. Till mid October, when we were invited to participate in a
Halloween fair hosted by UCM (Universal Church of the Master). We went back the next
week Sunday and met several people who would We left Kens and
moved to Chucks property in November. moved in aroudn
august, moved out nov. we could have stayed till
teh end of the month but I wanted to be at our next
destination for Shakra’s cancer treatments. Yes ladies and gentlemen, a cancer patient was asked to
leave a comfortable place to live…
First we moved into the trailer to the
right in the image. A few weeks later we
moved into the shed to the right. Lived here till may 1996, |
